How Custom Concrete Countertops Differ from Stock Surfaces
When you order a concrete countertop, the work begins with a template visit. We measure the cabinets, the wall run, the island footprint, and mark where the sink and cooktop will sit. That template becomes the mold.
The forms are built to that exact shape. Reinforcement is placed so the slab carries its span without cracking. The sink and cooktop openings are blocked out in the right spots, not cut afterward. When the concrete is cast, vibrated and cured, the surface is ground to the finish you chose, honed smooth or textured, then sealed.
We visit, measure the cabinets and base, confirm the edge profile and finish, and mark the exact location of sink and cooktop openings.
Form construction
Custom forms are built to the template. Reinforcement is placed for strength. Cut-outs are blocked out so they land in the right spot.
Pour and cure
Concrete is cast into the forms, vibrated to remove air pockets, and cured. Depending on size and access, this happens in our shop or on-site.
Finish and seal
The surface is ground and honed to the finish you selected. A sealer is applied to protect against stains and heat. The counter is then set level on the cabinets.

Most concrete countertop projects fall into two categories. An indoor concrete countertop is sealed food-safe and finished smooth for daily kitchen and bathroom use. It wraps islands, runs along perimeter cabinets, or tops a vanity.
An outdoor concrete countertop is formulated and sealed tougher for weather, UV exposure and temperature swings. It is the ideal surface for a built-in outdoor kitchen with a grill station. Both types are cast to fit, so the counter works with the space rather than being trimmed to it.

Yes. Every indoor concrete countertop is templated to your exact cabinets and cast in custom forms, with sink and cooktop cut-outs placed where they belong, not trimmed from a stock slab.
Sealed concrete resists stains and heat well and is harder than it looks, but like any counter it is not indestructible. We seal it properly and give you the simple care steps that keep it looking new for years.
Square, eased, bullnose and custom edges, with honed, polished or lightly textured surfaces. We confirm the edge, finish and colour on the template visit so the cast counter matches what you pictured.
Either, depending on size and access. Smaller counters are often cast in our shop and installed finished; larger or wrap-around counters may be cast in place. We confirm which on the estimate.
