Lithium-Safe EV Battery Flooring for Laval Production
Battery cell assembly floors face a unique combination of hazards: lithium and organic electrolyte spills, solvent exposure, and electrostatic sensitivity that can damage components mid-assembly. Laval Concrete engineers hybrid flooring systems that resist the chemistry while maintaining the ESD-controlled resistance range your facility requires. We start every project with a free written estimate and a site assessment.
- Lithium and electrolyte rated
- ESD resistance verified post-install
- Zone-specific specs, not one-size-all
Industry-specific engineering
Why EV Battery Flooring Is Not Standard Industrial Concrete
The EV battery industry emerged in the last decade, and its floor requirements reflect a collision of two previously separate concerns. Lithium-ion production demands chemical resistance to organic electrolytes and lithium compounds that standard industrial epoxy cannot handle. Simultaneously, cell assembly requires ESD control to prevent static discharge damage to sensitive components. Neither a pure chemical-resistant system nor a pure ESD floor alone solves both problems.
We engineer hybrid systems that meet both requirements in a single pour. The concrete slab is prepped to specification, the hybrid coating system is applied with embedded conductive elements, and the grounding scheme is installed to your facility's ESD program. After cure, we verify the ESD resistance range with megohmmeter testing and document the chemical-resistance rating for your records.
Our chemical-resistant flooring work covers other industrial chemistries; our ESD flooring serves non-battery manufacturing. For battery-specific zones, we combine both. Adjacent clean room flooring is handled separately if your facility has sealed-process areas.
Installation sequence
How We Build EV Battery Floors in Laval
-
Assess chemistry and ESD needs
We meet with your process engineering team to confirm the specific lithium chemistry, electrolyte composition, solvent exposure, and the ESD resistance range your cell-handling protocol requires.
-
Prepare the concrete slab
The existing slab is diamond-ground to remove all contaminants, old coatings, and surface debris. The concrete is left clean and primed, ready for the hybrid system application.
-
Apply hybrid coating system
The matched urethane-epoxy hybrid is applied in layers, with conductive elements embedded throughout. Grounding straps are installed at engineered points to tie the floor to the building electrical system.
-
Test and document
After full cure, megohmmeter testing confirms ESD resistance across multiple floor points. Chemical-resistance documentation is compiled and delivered for facility audits and compliance records.
Hybrid system advantage
One Floor, Two Critical Functions
A pure chemical-resistant urethane will fail under ESD-sensitive cell assembly because its resistance is too high for static dissipation. A pure ESD epoxy will degrade under lithium spills and organic electrolyte exposure. The hybrid system is engineered to handle both simultaneously, which is what battery production demands.
We also spec per zone within your facility. Cell assembly may need higher ESD sensitivity; pack assembly may need higher load capacity. Rather than install one system everywhere, we engineer the right coating for each production area. Coordinate with clean room flooring if you have sealed-process zones, and with our broader industrial concrete services for non-battery areas.

What Laval Battery Manufacturers Say About Their EV Battery Floors
Hybrid chemical/ESD system across our cell assembly zones. Three years of operation, electrolyte spills cleaned up without floor damage, ESD verification still in range. Engineering for both requirements is what made it work.
They knew the EV battery industry was different from standard manufacturing or standard ESD work. The hybrid spec made sense once explained; the install matched the spec exactly.
Different system in our pack assembly zone (more vehicle-load) than in cell assembly (more ESD). Right tool per zone, not one floor everywhere. The match is what we needed.
Documentation package supported our customer audit for an OEM contract. The compliance side mattered as much as the install quality. Real industry awareness.
