Depth and Dimension in Your Laval Garage Floor
Metallic epoxy transforms a concrete slab into a living surface where pigment swirls create depth that shifts with the light. Laval Concrete applies the system in layers: prep, primer, then a clear body coat infused with metallic pigment that our crew moves and works to form the marbled effect, sealed under a protective topcoat that resists hot tires, salt spray and impact. Every project includes a free written estimate and firm completion date.

Installation sequence
How Metallic Epoxy Differs from Solid-Colour Coatings
When you choose a standard epoxy garage floor, the colour is uniform across the slab. Metallic epoxy takes a different path: the installer mixes metallic pigment into a clear base coat and applies it with rollers, brushes and air movement, allowing the pigment particles to float and settle unevenly, creating swirls, clouds and visual depth that no two floors will replicate identically.
The technique demands skill and timing. Temperature, humidity, and the installer's hand all influence the final pattern. The result is a one-of-a-kind finish that reads as three-dimensional, catching light from different angles throughout the day. Underneath remains a professional concrete coating system: slab prep, primer, the metallic body, and a clear topcoat for durability.
Want to compare options? Polyaspartic coatings can also be applied as metallic with faster cure times. Polished concrete skips coating entirely and densifies the slab itself. If an old coating has failed, garage floor repair strips and rebuilds the system from the ground up.
Installation process
Four Stages to Your Metallic Epoxy Garage Floor
-
Sample selection and test area
We bring metallic pigment sample boards to your garage in natural light. You select a colour or blend, and we apply a small test section so you see the exact look before committing to the full floor.
-
Slab preparation and priming
The concrete is mechanically ground to the correct profile, cleaned, moisture-tested, and primed with the matched primer for the metallic system. This foundation ensures adhesion and durability.
-
Metallic body coat application
The clear body coat is mixed with your chosen metallic pigment and applied to the floor. Our crew uses rollers, brushes and air movement to work the pigment, creating the swirled, three-dimensional marbled effect.
-
Topcoat curing and handoff
Once the metallic body cures, a tough clear topcoat is applied to lock in the finish and protect against hot tires, salt, and impact. The floor then cures for full traffic and load capacity.

Metallic Epoxy Versus Other Garage Floor Systems
Standard epoxy with broadcast flake is the budget-friendly choice; metallic epoxy is the premium aesthetic. Both are professionally installed coatings with the same rigorous slab prep. The metallic body coat is what creates the showroom-quality three-dimensional look.
Polyaspartic can be applied as a metallic system as well, with the advantage of faster cure and UV stability. Polished concrete takes the opposite approach, removing the coating entirely and densifying the slab itself for a natural stone appearance. When a previous coating has peeled or failed, garage floor repair removes the old system and installs a new one correctly.

Metallic Epoxy Garage Floor FAQs
Colour consistency, durability, cost and slip resistance answered for Laval homeowners.
Metallic epoxy in a deep blue blend across the shop garage. The depth catches the lights and looks like a showroom, but it handles dropped wrenches and brake fluid just fine.
They did a small test area first so we could see how the metallic moved before committing. Final floor is exactly the look we picked, just at full scale.
Marbled monochrome whites and greys. Looks like polished marble until you realise it is concrete. The topcoat has shrugged off a winter of salt without losing the gloss.
Bought a sports car after the floor went in and the garage finally felt worthy of it. Compliments every time someone visits.
